Mother’s Day was an emotional one for South African actress and television personality Denise Zimba, who shared a deeply touching message to her daughters, Leah and Mila, on social media.

The actress, who is currently based in Cape Town, has been separated from her daughters after losing custody of them last year during an ongoing dispute with her estranged husband, Jakob Schlichting. The children now live in Germany with their father.

On Sunday, 10 May, Denise opened up about the pain of being away from her children by posting a heartfelt video montage filled with precious memories from happier times together. The emotional clip captured moments of love, laughter and family bonding, leaving many followers moved.

Although she is separated from her daughters by thousands of kilometres, Denise revealed that she continues to hold onto hope and remains determined to reunite with them one day. The media personality last saw her children more than a year ago after the German court granted full custody to their father.

In the emotional voiceover shared alongside the video, Denise poured out her feelings and love for her daughters.

“Even though I am not close, I make sure that every seed I plant is for you to know that there are trees for you to feed on.

“I was given the experience of birthing you. All I do is for you to have it easy one day.”

“I am, and always will be, proud of you two girls. Just know that God’s will and order should never be questioned. I fight for you every day just by staying alive. I pray for your covering and your tiny little hearts that have hurt so much”.

The actress ended her tribute with another emotional promise to her daughters. “I will forever be your mama. Now and every lifetime to come”.

Her heartfelt message quickly touched social media users, with many flooding her comment section with words of encouragement, prayers and support during this difficult time.
