While many South Africans celebrated Mother’s Day with flowers, gifts and heartfelt messages, it was a painful and emotional day for South African DJ Oscar Mbo. The star sadly shared that he laid his mother to rest on Mother’s Day.
Oscar Mbo took to Instagram and shared an emotional message with his followers. He wrote, “laying our Queen to rest on Mother’s Day. together through thick & thin, the Lord shall provide.”
The heartbreaking post touched many South Africans, including celebrities who filled his comment section with messages of love and support during the difficult time.
Media personality Somizi Mhlongo commented, “And then I see this on Mother’s Day. Askies brother.”
Model Refilwe Modiselle also shared comforting words. She wrote, “ Ohhhh brother sending you so much love & peace to you & your family in this difficult time. Tsohle ha di apare tshiamo le sebetse hantle.”
Earlier in May, Oscar Mbo announced the passing of his mother on Instagram. The DJ shared touching pictures and memories of the special moments they shared together over the years. Alongside the photos, he posted an emotional tribute about the love and support his mother gave him throughout his life and career.
He wrote, “woah.” With a heartbroken emoji. “you loved all of us so loud, you taught us how to pray, how to share and how to express ourselves. I thank God for your amazing life that you shared with us Mama, the best childhood I had and the support you gave me from the very beginning to the end – you were so so proud of me & would always remind me how good God is. Rest in eternal peace, l’m shattered but I’m filled with so much love as you always gave me. Rest in peace my love.”
Many fans and followers have continued to send prayers and condolences to Oscar Mbo and his family as they mourn the loss of their beloved mother.
