Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that things are over between him and long-term girlfriend, Russian model Irina Shayk.
Ronaldo said today in a statement: “After dating for five years, my relationship with Irina Shayk has come to an end.
“We believed it would be best for both of us to take this step now.”
Cristiano says he had to put out the statement so the speculation surrounding his relationship with Irina could end. Sad news for the couple, great news for whoever had their eyes on the two and actually stands a chance.
In positive news for Ronaldo, he recently picked up the Ballon d’Or after being voted the world’s best football player above Lionel Messi, but Shayk did not accompany him to the ceremony in Monaco like she did in previous years. Her absence triggered rumours that their relationship was over and well the rumours are now reality.
