South Africa’s biggest names in entertainment and fashion are being honoured for their style, impact, and empowerment at the SA Style Awards 2025, which will take place on 25 May 2025. The prestigious awards celebrate individuals who are not only stylish but also powerful changemakers. Among the standout names is actress, producer, and businesswoman Connie Ferguson, who was celebrated as the Style Icon of the year.
Sharing the exciting announcement on social media, Zebra Square posted, “Connie Ferguson is a South African actress, producer, and businesswoman. Best known for her role in the hit TV series Generations, she is the co-founder of Ferguson Films, a production company that has produced popular shows like The Queen. Connie is also an influential figure in the entertainment industry and a champion for women’s empowerment.”
Connie’s recognition comes as no surprise. For decades, she has set trends with her elegant style, strong presence, and trailblazing work in TV and film. She continues to inspire women across the country through her work and her commitment to female empowerment.
Another rising star who made headlines is Zanele Potelwa, who was awarded The Next Big Thing title. Zebra Square shared, “Zanele Potelwa is an award-winning South African broadcaster, radio and TV presenter, and content creator. At 29, she hosts the lunch show on 5FM and is a presenter for Selimathunzi on SABC 1. Passionate about women’s empowerment, Zanele also founded the Zanele Potelwa Foundation, which supports young women and combats femicide in South Africa.”

The award for Most Stylish Performing Artist in Film or TV went to the stunning Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa, known for her incredible acting, fashion design, and entrepreneurship. “Enhle Mbali is a South African actress, fashion designer, and entrepreneur, renowned for her role in The Black Door. She is the founder of Essie Apparel, a fashion brand that showcases her creative vision and passion for design. Enhle is dedicated to promoting self-expression through fashion and empowering women in the industry,” Zebra Square posted.
Lastly, Shudufhadzo Musida, former Miss South Africa 2020, was awarded for Most Innovative Style. “Shudufhadzo Musida is a South African model, beauty queen, and mental health advocate, best known for being crowned Miss South Africa 2020. She uses her platform to raise awareness about mental health, particularly in young people, and has been an influential voice for empowerment and self-love. Shudufhadzo is also a graduate, with a degree in International Relations.”
