Media personality Carol Bouwer has officially revealed the date and venue for this year’s Miss World South Africa pageant. The prestigious event will be held on October 5 at the iconic Sun City in the North West, marking the second year of the pageant under Bouwer’s leadership.
Bouwer, known for her media ventures such as The Mbokodo Awards, Motswako, and The African Odyssey, shared her excitement about hosting the event once again. Speaking to TshisaLIVE, she expressed her gratitude to Sun International and other sponsors for supporting her vision to shape future leaders through the platform of beauty pageants.
“Thirty years ago I travelled around the world gathering memories with the finalists. A journey that started in the Seychelles and culminated at Sun City. I am honoured to return to a place I view as central to pageantry on the continent,” Bouwer reminisced.
As the final preparations for the event take shape, Bouwer shared her anticipation for the big day. “We are getting ready for finale week. The set is designed, and we are excited to welcome everyone to see our finalists. Truly a remarkable group. Seeing South Africa crown someone who will help us win the Miss World crown,” she said.
When asked about the role the new Miss World South Africa will play after her crowning, Bouwer emphasised the importance of her position. “Foremost, she is going to represent us at Miss World and second, she is going to engage our nation at all critical points throughout the year as a role model, a speaker, a builder and a helping hand where needed.”
With the event just weeks away, Bouwer is looking forward to yet another spectacular celebration of beauty, intelligence, and leadership.
