Award-winning singer and platinum-selling artist Cici, whose real name is Busisiwe Thwala, has made a powerful comeback with her new album Busisiwe 2.0. At 38, the singer continues to inspire fans with her story of pain, healing, and strength.

Cici has been through a lot in her life. She survived abuse and was in a terrible accident that broke her pelvic bone. Doctors told her she might never be able to have children. But against all odds, she became a mother to a healthy baby boy. Her journey has not been easy, but through her music, she shares messages of hope and resilience.

Now, Cici has released Busisiwe 2.0, a 14-track album that she says is “genre-defiant and spiritually charged.” According to DRUM, she said, “This album is a return to self. A deep breath after the chaos. A prayer whispered in gratitude. A loud affirmation of who I am and where I come from.”

The album features a mix of local and international artists. Cici worked with award-winning newcomer Naledi Aphiwe on the single Konakele. She also collaborated with Boypee and Hyce from Nigeria, Mimi Marz from Tanzania, and local stars like Zuko, Mthunzi, and rising talent Kite.

Cici first released her album Busisiwe in 2017 under Ambitiouz Entertainment, her previous record label. That album focused on her journey through love, heartbreak, and personal strength. Since then, she has left the label and grown as an independent artist and woman of faith.

“Busisiwe 2.0 is not a rebirth, it’s a returning to self,” she explains. “It represents healing, elevation, and bold expression. I’ve collaborated with artists I admire deeply to create something that is truly African, truly honest, and truly me.”

Cici’s story is one of courage and resilience. Through her music, she continues to inspire people by showing that even after pain and loss, healing and joy are possible
