What would you do if you suddenly had R1 billion? Would you run away to a tropical island, live like a king or queen, or pay off all your debts and start fresh? Mzansi Magic’s brand-new crime drama Levels explores this exciting question, and the chaos that comes with it.
From award-winning producer and writer Busisiwe Ntintili, Levels is set to premiere on Sunday, 7 September at 19:30 on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161). The show promises a mix of crime, romance, betrayal, and ambition, all sparked by a daring heist.
According to Actors Space, the story kicks off when R1 billion in foreign currency vanishes during a bold robbery at a private airport. Crime Intelligence immediately brings in top detective Bongi Nkosi, played by Lunathi Mpofu (known from Inimba), to solve the case.
Things get complicated when Detective Stephen Vilakazi, played by Bonko Khoza (star of Ithonga), is sent from head office to join the investigation. As Vilakazi starts putting the puzzle pieces together, Bongi’s world begins to fall apart. Not only does she have to work with someone who’s watching her closely, but her past begins to resurface, threatening everything she has built.
On top of that, there’s a growing attraction between the two detectives, which could put the entire investigation, and their futures, at risk. As the search for the money continues, the truth becomes more dangerous and difficult to face.

The show also stars Melusi Mbhele (Shaka Ilembe, Isibaya), Sikelelwa Vuyelani (1802: Love Defies Time), and Unathi Mkhize (Ithonga).
