Media personality and model Ayanda Thabethe is officially a married woman! She said “I do” to her longtime love and businessman fiancé Peter Matsimbe in a beautiful wedding ceremony held on 29 June 2025. The couple, who share two sons, finally sealed their love in front of close friends, family, and God.
Ayanda shared stunning pictures and videos from their big day on Instagram, showing off her elegant wedding gown with a long train and veil. Her husband, Peter, looked stylish in a black and white tuxedo, and their two sons were dressed in matching little black suits, looking adorable as they joined their parents for the celebration.
The wedding had a classy all-black dress code, and guests looked elegant in their dark outfits. The décor was equally breathtaking, adding to the magical atmosphere. Ayanda even updated her Instagram bio to proudly include the word “Married.”
In a touching caption on Instagram, she shared: “In front of God and surrounded by love, we signed a promise that began long before pen met paper. Our signing ceremony – The beginning of our forever as a family. ‘I have found the one whom my soul loves! – Song of Songs 3:4’. 29.06.2025.”
The couple received plenty of love and congratulatory messages from friends and fans. TV presenter Pearl Modiadie commented, “So dreamy! Congratulations beautiful, here’s to your forever. God bless your union.”
Rapper Gigi Lamayne added, “Congratulations to you, my sis. Love has located and looks so beautiful on you. May God grant this union the peace and infinite happiness you so honestly deserve. Amen.”
Ayanda and Peter have been together for four years. In June 2025, she shared a message on her Instagram stories celebrating their love:
“Four years ago on May 31, 2021, I met the guy I wanted to annoy forever. Life has changed so much since then, but annoying you is for life. Love you with all my heart, my love. Thank you for changing my life and making me the happiest wife ever.”
The couple got engaged on the 27th of December 2024 in a romantic surprise that left Ayanda in tears of joy. Peter planned a magical proposal with an aisle covered in white rose petals, LED lights spelling out “Will you marry me?”, and a violinist playing in the background. It was an unforgettable moment captured on camera.
After the proposal, Ayanda wrote: “You are the perfect sunset where my quest for love has found its ending and the spectacular sunrise where my most meaningful adventure begins. Thank you for the greatest gift of all: your heart and our sons. I am deeply honoured to be your first and only wife, the one chosen to share this lifetime of love with you.”
