South African kwaito musician, producer and businessman Arthur Mafokate is preparing to lay his father, Enos Mafokate, to rest following his death at the age of 80.
Enos Mafokate was remembered as an equestrian pioneer whose contribution to the sport earned him the name “Kgosi ya Dipere” — The King of Horses. Following the announcement of his passing, Arthur paid a heartfelt tribute to his late father, reflecting on the impact he had both publicly and within their family.
The Mafokate family has now confirmed the funeral arrangements, with Arthur sharing the details on social media.
The funeral service will take place on Thursday, 10 September 2026, at 09:00 at The Plot Studios, 35 Lyncon Road, Carlswald Holdings.
“As a family, we share the funeral service arrangements for our beloved Daddy, Enos Mafokate – Kgosi ya Dipere, The King of Horses,” the family said.
The family said the gathering would be an opportunity for loved ones and those who knew Enos to honour the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind.
“We will gather… to honour his life, celebrate his remarkable journey and say our final goodbye.”
The family also expressed its gratitude to everyone who has supported them since news of Enos’ death broke.
“We remain deeply grateful for the love, prayers, messages and support that have surrounded our family during this difficult time. Rest peacefully, Daddy. Your legacy will live on.”
Arthur previously shared an emotional tribute to his father, describing the difficulty of finding the right words to express his grief.
“Today, I say goodbye to my father, Enos Mafokate.
There are moments when words simply cannot carry the weight of what one is feeling. This is one of them.
To the world, you were Kgosi ya Dipere – The King of Horses, a pioneer who broke barriers and opened doors for generations that came after you.
To us, you were Dad. I will forever be proud to be your son, proud of the life you lived, the battles you fought and the legacy you leave behind.
You have taken your final ride, Ntate. Rest peacefully, Daddy. Your legacy will live on forever.”
As the family prepares to say its final goodbye, Enos Mafokate’s legacy continues to live on through the people and generations he inspired.
