Award-winning content creator, YouTube vlogger and founder of Treasury Designs and Malakyt, Mihlali Ndamase, has issued a deeply personal and serious statement expressing concern for her safety.

The influencer shared the statement on her Instagram page on Sunday, 18 January 2026, explaining that speaking out had become necessary to protect herself and her loved ones. In her post, Ndamase made it clear that the decision to go public was not taken lightly.

“I am issuing this statement as a matter of safety and self-preservation. I am deeply concerned for my life and for the wellbeing of my family. Should anything happen to me it is important that the truth is known,” she wrote.

Ndamase alleged that she has been subjected to months of harassment, threats and intimidation by a man named Michael Brits, also known online as “Mike”. According to her statement, the situation escalated after she rejected his advances.

“For several months I have been subjected to ongoing harassment threats and intimidation by a man named Michael Brits also known as ‘Mike’,” she said.

She described behaviour that she said had become obsessive and frightening, including being followed and having her movements monitored. Ndamase claimed the man appeared at her workplace without reason and showed up in places where she was parked or seated.

“My privacy has been repeatedly violated,” she added, explaining that members of her family were also approached in public and that people were allegedly paid to follow and photograph her without consent.

The content creator further raised concern over false stories about her life that she said were spread online. She noted that some media platforms repeated these claims without verifying them.

“This has caused significant repetitional harm and has further endangered my safety by presenting fiction as fact,” she said.

Ndamase confirmed that she is currently working with law enforcement and taking legal action to protect herself. She stressed that speaking out was not about attention or sympathy.

“I am speaking publicly not for attention and not for sympathy but because silence has become unsafe,” she explained.

She ended her statement with a powerful message about consent and boundaries, saying: “As a person with influence, I understand scrutiny. Influence however does not equal consent. A woman does not owe access to her life, her body or her time because she was pursued. Rejection is not provocation. Silence has cost me my peace. Speaking now is an act of self preservation. We need to come to a point where men understand that courting a woman does not entitle them to you or your body. No means no!”
