LaConco Makes Acting Debut on Genesis as “The Podcaster”

South African reality TV star Nonkanyiso “LaConco” Conco is stepping into a brand-new chapter of her career — acting. Best known for her vibrant personality on The Real Housewives of Durban, LaConco is now taking on a fresh challenge and will appear in her first acting role on Mzansi Magic’s hit drama series Genesis.

On Tuesday, 12 August 2025, LaConco took to Instagram to share her excitement with fans. She posted a short clip from her scene, where she plays a character called The Podcaster on the fictional show Off The Record. In the scene, she interviews Gabriel, a character portrayed by Buyile Mdladla.

LaConco expressed her joy, writing: “Making my acting debut tonight on Genesis as ‘The podcaster’. We Mnge! Hawu thank you for featuring me, Genesis family.”

Her announcement was met with a wave of love from fans and fellow celebrities. Legendary actress Leleti Khumalo commented: “I love this so much. Congratulations LaC.” Ayah Mthembu_ also cheered her on, saying: “Congratulations onwards and upwards, Darli can’t wait to see you.”

Genesis is a gripping drama series filled with twists, secrets, and betrayals. At its core, it follows Felicia Thabethe, a gospel music icon who built a powerful empire alongside her husband Gabriel. When devastating secrets come to light, Felicia must protect her family’s name and their record label, Genesis Records, before it all falls apart.

The show promises powerful performances from a star-studded cast, including Baby Cele (Sibongile & The Dlaminis, Shaka Ilembe), Buyile Mdladla (Gomora), Nay Maps (Umkhokha: The Curse, The Queen), Gaosi Raditholo (The River), Kealeboga Masango (Youngins), and KB Motsilanyane.
