Miss Universe 2019, Zozibini Tunzi, is set to shine once again—this time as the host of the upcoming Women’s Day Business & Fashion Festival at the Free State Fashion Week. The special event will take place on Saturday, 9 August, and promises to be a celebration of women, excellence, fashion, and empowerment.

The theme for this year is “Excellence,” and according to the CEO of Free State Fashion Week, Candy Smith, Tunzi was the perfect choice.

“This year’s theme is excellence. We said this year is a year of excellence and whatever we do, we do it in excellence. And I think that’s where Zozi fits in so perfectly,” Smith told The Citizen, proudly announcing Tunzi as the host.

This Women’s Day festival is not just a fun fashion event, it’s part of a build-up to the main Free State Fashion Week, which will be held on 12–13 September. The festival aims to create a space where women can come together, be inspired, and connect with others from different walks of life.

Smith explained that the event is about more than just fashion. “We want to work with people who embody excellence so that we, as Free Staters, can evolve and learn from these powerful women,” she said.

The event will feature meaningful conversations, live music, and performances by well-known artists like Unathi Nkayi and Ami Faku. In addition, the day will include talks, fashion showcases by local designers, exhibitions, and other exciting moments.

Zozibini Tunzi will also share her personal journey, giving guests insight into her own challenges and growth. Her story is expected to spark real and powerful conversations around what women go through in both their personal and professional lives.

“The Women’s Day event is meant to empower women from all walks of life. It brings together creatives, professionals, and women in business. Whether you’re a doctor, artist, or entrepreneur, this event is for every woman,” Smith added.
