Zenande Mfenyana Reveals Her First Job And How She Spent Her First Salary. Growth is the one thing that is definite in life but the good old past makes for some rather great memories. Actress Zenande Mfenyana had a moment of nostalgia on social media where she thought all the way back to her teenage years. The Queen seemed to be responsible from her high school years because that is when she became a working woman.
Taking to social media with a question, Mfenyana asked her followers about their very first job and what they did with the first salary. The former Generations actress revealed that she was in grade 11 when she got her first job which was at the age of 17/18. The mother of one remembers her first working gig at popular fast food restaurant Debonairs and Steers as a cashier which are normally located in the same venue.
She acquired the gig during the December holidays and the first thing she did after getting paid was buying Brandy’s Full Moon album on CD and buying a bus ticket to Johannesburg to spend New Years with her grandmother.
“Do you remember what you did with your very first pay check? I was in Gr 11 and I was working over the Dec holidays at Debonairs/Steers as a cashier. As soon as I got paid, I bought my first cd (Full Moon-Brandy) & I bought myself a bus ticket to Jozi and spent NY with my gran” she wrote.
Followers responded to the post with stories about their first pay cheque’s and it looks like a lot of people may have given it to their parents. Zenande has since grown by leaps and bounds from her cashier days and has recently celebrated a huge career milestone in the industry.
Taking to social media the mother of one revealed that she has officially been in the industry for a decade now after bagging her first break out role as Noluntu on Generations, ten years ago. She added how she enjoyed portraying the character and she is grateful to still be entertaining the people of Mzansi.
“Today marks exactly 10 years since I made my tv debut, I played the role of Noluntu on Generations. I loved playing this character, and today I’m so grateful that I am still a working actress in this country, to God be the glory” she wrote.
Fans and followers congratulated the actress for the huge milestone and shared stories on how the character inspired them to be bold and courageous just like the character was.
