Watch! Viola Davis Gushes Over Thuso Mbedu’s Great Qualities. Our very own Thuso Mbedu is a certified Hollywood star and even the Hollywood elites love her and can’t help but gush over her incredible talent and the amazing person she is.
Thuso has been on a promotional tour for her recent project, ‘The Woman King’ with her co-stars who include Oscar winning Viola Viola Davis. It’s clear the two created a special bond from the moment they met and have been singing praises of each other ever since. In one of the interviews, Viola was asked what she thought of Thuso and the star didn’t hold back gushing over the South African actress’s character and talent.
”Thuso has translucent talent, where you know ,I didn’t get the name of that paper which is sort of thin, you can see through everything, light comes through and every shade and that is how l see her emotional life coming through with this character Nawi, it’s the immediacy, it’s that accessibility, that only very few have and l think it’s the building block of real incredibly actor, I also find Thuso to be incredible having incredible integrity and……. I found her to be someone who absolutely works hard, she is both someone who has inborn talent and l find her wisdom with her character as something that probably people don’t have at her age and I find her as an incredible heartfelt person even behind the camera,” Viola said leaving Thuso stunned.
Viola’s adoration for Thuso goes beyond them being co-stars in ‘The Woman King’. Davis admitted she’d love to have Mbedu portray her if ever there’s a biopic made about her. Speaking about that possibility on American talk show, Mbedu said, “…you did though (looking at Viola). I said I’d audition but she said I got the role already.” “I said you’d get the role but I don’t necessarily want to see a biopic about my life,” Davis responded.
Whilst the film is out in other parts of the world, it is set to be premiered in south Africa on the 30th of September 2022.
