A few weeks back it was reported that Oscar Pistorius was apparently getting special treatment behind bars, but the rumours fell flat as there was no evidence to support the claims.
Pretoria Correctional Services had also denied the claims that Oscar and Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir are getting special treatment behind bars after a video of the two surfaced showing them playing some soccer.
The Daily Sun reported that a source had provided them with a video of the two playing soccer inside a courtyard of the correctional services facilities. The source continued to tell Daily Sun that fellow inmates were angered over the “special treatment” that the two are receiving during their stay at the facilities.
Apparently Krejcir had made a request in July 2014 for a bicycle and treadmill so he could exercise and keep fit while he serves his time, and the request was approved with no questions asked.
It seems that the relationship between Pistorius and Krejcir came about when Krejcir complained to prison management about them allowing Oscar to use the training equipment “without his knowledge”.
The source continued to say that since that ‘incident’ the two men have been training together.
The Correctional services spokesman Ofentse Morwane was quoted saying that “inmates are allowed to exercise an hour a day.”
Morwane also added to his comment by saying that also allegations that are made by the inmates claiming that they are denied games are “unfortunate and misleading to the public”.
eNCA later verified the authenticity of the footage of Oscar playing soccer, which appears to have been taken with a cellphone. It is still not clear who is responsible for taking the footage.
What do you think of the “special treatment” that Oscar and Radovan are getting while behind bars?
