Uzalo’s Gugu Gumede Goes On A Production Break Following The Recent Loss Of Her Mother. losing a loved one is one of the most painful things that anybody could ever experience, especially when losing a parent. Actress and businesswoman Gugu Gumede recently lost her mother and is taking time away from work to focus on giving her the most beautiful send off.
The Daily Sun publication has reported that National Freedom Party president Zanele KaMagwaza Msibi who is mother to the actress has passed away. According to reports, Msibi suffered a fatal cardiac arrest which was brought on by COVID-19 related complications.
Msibi was admitted to Umhlanga hospital in Durban where she stayed for two weeks until her passing on Monday. This is apparently not the first time that Zanele suffered from a major health scare as reports claim that she had suffered a massive stroke and was in a coma for a few days in 2014 that left her with a speech defect.
According to a source, Gugu has been taking care of her mother since she suffered a stroke until she died. This is why she has taken a break from shooting because she wants to be hands on when it comes to the burial.
The actress has asked to grieve the painful loss in private and has taken time off social media and work to grieve the loss of her mother. A colleague of Msibi’s commented saying that everyone knew how much Gugu loved and respected her mother however, her passing is a reassurance of peace as she suffered a lot following her stroke in 2014
“We believe that she is resting as she suffered a lot after her stroke” the colleague said.
Details of when Zanele will be buried are still unknown however, Uzalo spokesperson Nomfundo Zondi has commented saying that she cannot confirm or deny anything but is asking that the actress be respected and given the privacy that she deserves.
