Unathi Reportedly Axed By Kaya FM. Veteran media personality Unathi Nkayi has been on the airwaves for over a decade and has worked on different platform including Metro FM, and more recently Kaya FM. The SA Idols judge joined Kaya FM as the host of the Midday Joy Show on which aired on weekdays from 12-3 pm last year and it looks like her time with the station has come to an abrupt end.

It has been confirmed that Unathi has been fired “effective immediately” from the station which the Sunday World publication allegedly revealed stemmed from a verbal conflict that Nkayi had with one of the station’s popular presenters and led to disciplinary action taken against her. the station has released a statement regarding the matter claiming that the relationship with Unathi and the opposition had reach an intolerable stage hat influenced their decision to let Unathi go.

 “Ms Nkayi’s contract has ended prematurely due to certain conduct that rendered the relationship intolerable going forward. Kaya 959 can confirm that certain incidents had occurred, which resulted in the breakdown of the trust relationship between the two parties. The business can further confirm that due process was followed and the decision was therefore made to part ways with Ms Nkayi,” the statement reads.

The station distanced itself from going into more detail about the events that transpired out of interest of both parties however, that both the sides of the story were taken into consideration and unfortunately Unathi’s truth was found wanting.

“The station would prefer not to be drawn into a debate around the details of what transpired in the interest of both parties. Safe to state that Ms Nkayi’s version of events has been carefully considered and unfortunately found wanting.” the statement further reads.

Kaya FM has confirmed that a replacement presenter will be announced in due time and that’s that on that. the news has since sent the streets of twitter into a shockwave and Nkayi is now trending on social media. Tweeps are now questioning themselves if Unathi really is the problem as she left Metro FM after 10 years on the station because she was allegedly not happy with the stations and its reshuffle.
