Unathi Nkayi, beloved media personality and singer, recently took to Instagram to share her personal weight loss journey, offering practical fitness and nutrition tips to her followers. Her story is not just about physical transformation but also a commitment to wellness, motivating many to embark on their own health journeys.
In a candid post, Unathi reflected on how far she has come, humorously reminding her fans of her past self. “The first thing I do is show people my before and after pics because people like to forget how big I was,” she joked, proudly showcasing an old photo from her heavier days.
Her main advice? Commitment. “Whatever you want, you can have; you must just commit to it,” Unathi emphasised. She encouraged her followers to pledge a minimum of two workouts per week until the end of the year. “Promise yourself that you will work out a MINIMUM of twice a week until 31 Dec and we have a deal. The weeks you have more energy and time put more hours in to make up the weeks you can only do two hours.”
Unathi’s fitness routine is complemented by a mindful approach to nutrition. She starts her meals after noon and kicks off the day with a protein-rich breakfast. “I eat after 12 and always start my day with protein. Usually eggs with avo, but fish and chicken are wonderful too,” she said.
For those seeking a flat stomach, Unathi revealed her secret: “The flat stomach is achieved in the kitchen and the abs at gym.” To boost her wellness journey, she relies on a green juice made with spinach, cucumber, avocado, ginger, and 100% juice. And on those festive days, she adds a dash of gin for a cheeky twist. “I have gone back to my green juice for supper and sometimes add gin when I’m feeling festive,” she confessed.
