South African Grammy award-winning star Tyla has expressed heartfelt gratitude to her supporters after winning two major awards at the American Music Awards on Monday, 25 May 2026.

The singer took to Instagram to thank fans for the love and support they have shown her throughout her journey. Tyla shared a clip from eNCA, where the news channel celebrated her impressive achievement and proudly referred to her as “South Africa’s very own Tyla.”

Clearly emotional and overwhelmed by the moment, the star reflected on how much the support from her fans means to her. Thanking everyone who voted and supported her music, Tyla wrote: “Chanel is the first single off A POP. And we already bagged 2X AMA’s…. Haaaaa I get so much love and support from you guys that I will forever be grateful for “South Africans very own Tyla” ldk what my life is rn.”

The singer had a huge night at the American Music Awards after winning Social Song of the Year and Best Afrobeats Artist for her hit 2026 single, “CHANEL.” The track has become one of the biggest songs of the year and continues to dominate streaming platforms and social media trends across the world.

Tyla’s Best Afrobeats Artist win was particularly impressive, as she beat some of the biggest names in African music, including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Rema and Moliy.

Her viral hit “CHANEL” has already amassed more than 350 million Spotify streams, proving just how much the song has connected with listeners worldwide. The song also made history after helping Tyla become the first international artist to win Social Song of the Year at the American Music Awards.

Fans flooded her comment section with congratulatory messages, with many praising her for continuing to put South Africa on the global map. Tyla’s latest wins have once again cemented her status as one of the country’s biggest international stars, and judging by the love she continues to receive, her global rise is far from over.
