South African superstar Tyla is living her best life — and she wants the world to do the same. The Grammy Award-winning singer recently dropped her brand-new EP on 25 July, and fans are loving it. The four-track project is called WWP, which stands for We Wanna Party, and it includes two brand-new songs: “Dynamite,” featuring Nigerian music icon Wizkid, and “Mr. Media.” It also includes her previously released hits “Bliss” and “Is It.”

During an exclusive listening session in London earlier this month, Tyla spoke about how WWP came to life. She shared a special story about “Dynamite,” a song she started back in 2022. “When I thought of doing a mixtape called WWP, I went back to all my old demos and I remembered the Wiz one,” she said. “And it was still good, like, after three years! I just told him, ‘Let’s finish it because I want to drop it.’”

But the WWP mixtape isn’t just about music,  it’s a vibe, a mood, and a celebration. Tyla explained that WWP is inspired by joy, togetherness, and good times with people who bring positive energy. “I’ve been on this tip of enjoying life, not just partying, but just enjoyment with people that I love, with people that are a vibe,” the “Water” hitmaker said.

She also explained that We Wanna Party is more than just a catchy title — it’s part of South African culture. “‘We wanna party’ is actually a South African chant, so we’ve been using it forever. And it’s been a thing for hyping up people and just that feeling of enjoyment,” she shared. “I thought it was perfect for the mixtape ’cause the music screams ‘we wanna party!’”

Tyla continues to make waves globally while staying true to her roots. With her unique sound, fun energy, and powerful voice, she’s showing the world that South African music is here to stay, and that partying with purpose is a lifestyle.
