Following the much publicized silent protest about remembering Kwezi during President Jacob Zuma’s post election speech few weeks ago, Tmu Morake is coming out to share her personal story. Tumi Morake opens up about her rape ordeal.
Speaking to the Citizen, the comedienne says she was raped when she was younger and that’s how she lost her virginity. “I was raped but never spoke about it till now, and it is probably because of this Khwezi thing. But that was how I lost my virginity,” she said.
As a result, Tumi says the ordeal affected her for a year and a half, before getting back on her feet. The mom of three says the traumatic experience has equipped her with the necessary strength she needs to achieve whatever she has set her mind on.
“I have an erection every time I walk on stage, a big throbbing erection because this was the one thing that could have ended me, but instead gave me the strength to work harder.”
