Thomas Gumede Reacts To His Show Abomama Not Getting Any #SAFTAs13 Nomination! The first season of Mzansi Magic’s Abomama starring the likes of Khanyi Mbau and Nokuthula Ledwaba was a hit.
The series dominated social media trends and fans are waiting impatiently for season 2. Despite all that, Abomama did not receive any love from the South African Film And Television Association.
The show’s producer, actor and two time SAFTA winner himself Thomas Gumede took to twitter sharing his thoughts on the no SAFTA love.
“So #Abomama did not get even ONE nomination at the @SAFTAS1. Out of all the categories and all the shows nominated, a panel sat and decided that there was not a single thing that was done right on one of the highest rating dramas on Mzansi Magic,” he tweeted.

I also didn’t want to put a damper on the @SAFTAS1 considering that I’ve won twice as an actor. However, I cannot sit back and look at the work my team did and not feel for them. Actors, scripts, camera, art and wardrobe, post production!! #Abomama
