Thomas Gumede Proud of Son’s Soccer Success

South African actor, producer and director Thomas Gumede has left fans smiling after sharing a heartfelt tribute to his son following a successful soccer tournament.

The proud father took to social media to celebrate his son and his teammates from Tshiama Academy after they won a tournament. Sharing photos from the event, Gumede spoke about his son’s growth on and off the field.

While he is proud of his son’s improving soccer skills, he revealed that it is his character that makes him even prouder.

He wrote, “This past weekend with the champ and his @tshiama_academy family! They won the tournament and on the coldest weekend and did it having fun! His game is improving, but more importantly his character. When he gets hurt he gets up again and keeps going. He fights for the ball like I bought it for him for Christmas. He apologies if he fouls another player and he celebrates his team mates goals like he scored! He scored an amazing long ranger and we all celebrated like we won the World Cup! Being this guys father in the best thing to ever happen to me.”

The touching message quickly won over fans, with many praising Gumede for highlighting the importance of good character, teamwork and sportsmanship.

According to the actor, his son never gives up when he gets hurt and always gets back on his feet. He also makes sure to apologise when he fouls another player and celebrates his teammates’ goals as if they were his own.
