This Is Why Babes Wodumo‘s Manager Has Reportedly Quit On Her. Gqom artist Babes Wodumo has been in the headlines lately and for all the wrong reasons. It seems like Wodumo is not only experiencing challenges with her mother in law but she is also having trouble with her colleagues. It was reported that the new mommy who had her eyes set on making a career comeback has lost her manager.
It’s no secret that Babes has been labelled a hand full to work with and her now former manager is confirming that about her. It was reported by the Daily Sun that Babes Wodumo real name Bongekile Simelane has been dumped by her manager Keke Mokoena because she is unmanageable and difficult to work with.
“I guess my managing style is not compatible with her as an artist. Unfortunately I can’t reveal too much because of the confidentiality clauses in our contracts” Mokoena said.
A source added that Simelane has too many people around her offering bad advise that she often follows. The sources also claims that Babes lacks professionalism and has lost people and damaged a lot of relationships because of this. Apparently Babes has been doing things without consulting her former manager Keke and the last incident is the straw that broke the camel’s back.
The source claims that Babes released her latest EP titled Crown on December 10th without Mokoena’s knowledge and she found out via social media.
“Her manager only found out via social media that she had a new release. This did not sit well with Keke. Her manager was also not happy with the latest PR stunt and felt it was degrading to Mampintsha’s mother and damaging to Babes brand. She also felt her reputation as a manger was also on the line” the source claims.
Apparently, Keke had several deals in the works for Babes however, she was a no show to all of the commitments. Wodumo called Keke to apologize for her absence but Mokoena had already made her mind up to part ways with the artist once and for all.
Wodumo‘s team have however not wasted any time and have allegedly found a replacement manager Sibusiso Mcunu to manage both Babes and Mampintsha and according to him, he was not aware that Keke had parted ways with West Ink.
Babes and Mampintsha’s mother recently butt heads again after an audio of Wodumo cussing at Mampintsha’s mother went viral. In the video she can be heard ranting about how much she despises her mother in law Zama Gumede and saying a lot of cringe worthy things about her. Apart from revealing that Zama left Mampintsha at a door step when he was three days old, Wodumo threatened to assault Zama with the help of her family before continuing to cuss and refer to her as a worthless dog.
Mcunu addressed the media saying the video was just a publicity stunt and they were bringing attention to Wodumo’s latest project.
