The Real Housewives Of Johannesburg Reportedly Confirmed For Another Season #RHOJ. South Africa has been treated to a number of new reality shows over the years, but none have created a buzz like the housewives of Johannesburg. The show had two successful season however, fans were disappointed earlier in the year when the franchise announced the cancelation of season three.
Reality TV fans will now be happy to learn that the show is confirmed to be making a comeback and we can’t wait for the drama. Entertainment broadcast reporter Phil Mphela got the scoop on the show and announced it via his twitter platform. Mphela revealed that The cast of Real Housewives Of Johannesburg season 3 has been green lit again and Lethabo Mathatho, Mpho Merriweather, Mpumi Mophatlane, and the gang are headed back to our screens.
Taking to his twitter account, Phil revealed the return of the Housewives is definite and scheduled for a 2022 release. According to Mphela’s trusted sources, the show will no longer be produced under Sonia Mbele’s production company which gave us the first two seasons as the show has now found a new home.
“TV: Real Housewives of Johannesburg returns A new season of the popular but controversial show, has been green-lit for 2021 (2022) slate. Sources inform me that Sonia Mbele’s production company, which produced the first 2 seasons, will not be handling the new season” he wrote.
The Real Housewives of Johannesburg made its debut in August 2018 with a total of six ladies including Brinnette Seopela, Christall Kay, mother and daughter, Evodia and Mercy Mogase, Lendy Ter Mors, and Naledi Willers. The show also featured Lerika Kleinhans and Olwethu Leshabane, who appeared as the “friends” of the series. The second season then came with major changes to the cast as Seopela and Kay were the only two original cast members that returned to the series.
Earlier in the year M-Net’s channel director for local entertainment channels, Nomsa Philiso, confirmed the discontinuation of the show due to “unforeseen circumstances” however, the Sunday World publication reported a totally different story.
According to the publication the show was canned after Christall Kay was allegedly attacked by cast member Brinnette Seopela and her BFF Gugu Khathi outside a club in Pretoria while the show was in still in production. This brawl allegedly resulted in the upcoming season of RHOJ being canned temporarily for a few more month until Kay healed from her injuries, and we are happy that the ladies are back.
