Amapiano artist Thatohatsi Raphadi left many fans heartbroken after she shared an emotional response to body-shaming comments made about her on the Piano Pulse podcast.

The rising star became a trending topic after a clip from the podcast circulated online, sparking widespread backlash. During the discussion, music executive Nota Baloyi bluntly said: “Thatohatsi’s body does not look amazing.” The comment opened the door for further remarks, with one of the podcast hosts, Sifiso, adding that even if Thatohatsi could eat junk food every day, she would not gain weight because her body is naturally slim.

The comments did not sit well with fans, and they clearly took an emotional toll on the artist herself. Thatohatsi later took to her TikTok page, where she posted a visibly distressing video. In the clip, she appeared sad and overwhelmed, while the audio of the Piano Pulse hosts’ comments played in the background. The video included a message that read: “If they knew how long it took for I to love me and live looking like this.” “Not sucidal but I wouldn’t mind at this point. I don’t think I wanna continue living like this,”

Although she did not go into detail, her caption expressed deep emotional pain and frustration, prompting fans to rally around her and voice concern over how public commentary can affect artists’ mental and emotional well-being.

Social media users, particularly on X, were quick to condemn the podcast and defend the Amapiano artist. @PianoConnect commented, “Thatohatsi via tiktok . At this point Piano Pulse is no longer about amapiano, it’s just there to destroy artists and their confidence. Thatohatsi is a very unproblematic woman, she doesn’t deserve such.”

Another user, @pianoparliament, wrote: “Nota and Sfiso are out of line for body shaming Thatohatsi. One of Piano’s brightest new stars and a young woman who has a very long career ahead of her. If Piano Pulse exists to destroy and demoralise the artists within the space, the they are doing a pretty good job at it?”

The anger continued to grow, with @Khazimla_maq saying: “I swear man if Thatohatsi deleted her Instagram posts because of the remarks those Piano Pulse okes made I’m gonna lose my shit. My hate for that clown platform will reach immense levels if anything happens to her! I’m tired of those people.”

Others highlighted Thatohatsi’s unproblematic nature. @Vuyo_Gatsheni commented, “Bruh all Thathohatsi does is make good music and funny tik toks. She literally bothers no one.” Meanwhile, @TheOGPurist simply added, “These words hurt Thatohatsi man.”
