South African media star Thando Thabethe recently hosted a stylish and powerful event to celebrate Men’s Mental Health Month. Held in partnership with Sorbet Man Hyde Park, the event focused on men’s wellbeing, self-care, and fashion, all while promoting mental health awareness in a fun and meaningful way.
The guest list was filled with well-known names, including Jesse Suntele, Sandile Ndlovu, Hungani Ndlovu, Nat Ramabulana, Eric Macheru, Yanga Chief, Desmond Dube, and Tebogo and Mpho Lerole from the Act Now Foundation. Together, they joined Thabethe for a night that was both inspirational and stylish.
The event also marked the official launch of Tha’Bhuti, Thabethe’s new men’s fashion collection under her well-loved brand, Thabooty’s. What began as a playful April Fools’ joke is now a reality, and it’s making waves in the men’s fashion world.
According to Entertainment SA, Thabethe shared the deeper meaning behind the event: “This month is not only about raising awareness around men’s mental health but also about creating real spaces of softness and self-expression. Partnering with Sorbet Man gave us the perfect platform to show that taking care of yourself is strength, not weakness.”
She added, “But in a climate where it’s constantly a battle of the sexes it felt so beautiful to create an event where we celebrate our brothers and create a platform where they can share, feel and be vulnerable.”
Tha’Bhuti’s first line, the Coco Collection, combines luxury and comfort in a way that hasn’t often been seen in men’s fashion. One standout piece is a robe-dress hybrid that was handmade in South Africa. The design is meant to feel like a second skin, offering both confidence and coziness.
Thabethe explained that Tha’Bhuti is more than just clothing. It’s a movement meant to inspire men to embrace their softer side without shame.
“It’s about the soft brothers, the finest uncles, and the dads who deserve to feel premium comfort,” she said. “Tha’Bhuti is for those who want to look good while embracing the true meaning of relaxation and style.”
The message was clear: Men deserve spaces where they can care for themselves, speak openly, and express who they really are—without judgment.
Thabethe’s partnership with Sorbet Man ties perfectly into that mission, offering men not just stylish clothing but also top-tier grooming services to help them feel and look their best.
