It’s been seven years since model and medical doctor Tamaryn Green was crowned Miss South Africa 2018, and she recently took to Instagram to remember that special moment.
Tamaryn was only 23 years old when she won the crown during the 60th Miss South Africa pageant, which was held on May 27, 2018, at the Sun Arena at Time Square in Pretoria. On Instagram, she looked back at the day her life changed forever.
“Looking back to where it all began – in my infamous mustard dress, with no real clue about makeup, but bursting with excitement, ready to step out and reach for my dream. Oh, how time has flown and how much I’ve grown since then,” she wrote. “I’ll never forget one of the best years of my life and remain forever grateful for all the support I’ve received to this day. 7 years.”
She also posted a short video on her Instagram Story, writing, “Going down memory lane. Wish I had better footage of this moment.”
Her followers also shared their memories in the comments. One said, “I remember when you came out in that white gown, the whole arena gasped, you were amazing that night.” Another fan added, “Literally my whole inspiration into entering this journey.” And someone else wrote, “You were AMAZING! You are gorgeous inside and out.”
Since winning the Miss SA title, Tamaryn Green has continued to grow both personally and professionally. In April 2022, she married Ze Nxumalo in a beautiful wedding in Cape Town. The two got engaged in April 2021, and later had their umembeso ceremony in October 2021, where the groom’s family brings gifts to the bride’s family after lobola has been paid.
In November 2024, Tamaryn announced more joyful news—she was expecting her first child, a baby girl. She posted a lovely photo wearing a flowing pink floral dress and holding a tiny matching dress for her daughter. “Just had to share. Our very first matching outfit… what are the chances!” she captioned the photo, along with pink-themed gifts.
In February 2025, the couple celebrated their first Valentine’s Day as a family of three, announcing the birth of their daughter. Tamaryn shared a sweet photo of her baby’s tiny hands and wrote, “Our first Valentine’s Day as a family of three.”
She also shared a bouquet of flowers and a sweet message from her husband Ze. The note read, “Happy Valentine’s Day, baby. Thank you for our little girl. Now I have two favourite girls. Love you.”
