Since winning Big Brother Mzansi Season 5, Sweet Guluva has grown into one of South Africa’s most admired and well-known stars. He is now using his success to make a difference by becoming a proud ambassador for All Gold.
Sweet Guluva, whose real name is Akhona, recently joined forces with All Gold on a nationwide school tour that aims to uplift and inspire young people. Along with fellow ambassador Somizi Mhlongo, the pair visited learners in Thembisa and later travelled to Mgazi Secondary School in KwaZulu-Natal, where they spread joy and encouragement through dancing, music, and motivational talks.
According to TshisaLIVE, for Sweet Guluva, being chosen to represent a brand like All Gold is more than just a career move — it’s personal. “I’ve stayed original throughout my journey. I’ve been true to myself. I am a traditional man and I know the All Gold brand is about heritage, quality and authenticity — values I live by,” he said.
“People follow what they feel is genuine and real. That’s what connects. All Gold has always been a part of my life, so receiving that call felt like a full-circle moment because it was something true to me.”
He believes that staying true to who he is has helped him become a favourite with brands and fans alike. His authenticity, honesty, and pride in his roots have made him relatable and trustworthy — qualities that All Gold celebrates.
Sweet Guluva said he wants young people to believe in their dreams and in themselves. “I want them to know it’s possible. Whatever you desire or dream of, God will provide. Just keep going and pursuing your dreams,” he said.
“Initiatives such as All Gold are valuable because they give young people a sense of hope and possibility. By going from school to school, we’re showing learners their dreams are valid and achievable. It’s about planting the belief that they have the power to shape their own future — and giving up should never be an option.”
One special moment from the tour was when Somizi had the chance to meet Sweet Guluva’s family. It was a touching experience that highlighted the love and support behind Sweet Guluva’s success..
