The show itself promises drama, suspense, and plenty of twists. Starring Jo-Anne Reyneke as BK, a small-time con artist and single mother, Bad Influencer follows her journey into the dangerous world of crime. BK teams up with Pinky, an ambitious influencer played by Cindy Mahlangu, to sell fake luxury handbags online. What starts as a clever hustle quickly escalates when their scheme catches the attention of a ruthless crime boss and the police, forcing the women to navigate a high-stakes game of survival.

Netflix describes the series as being set “in a city obsessed with appearances, where two women juggle a dangerous double life, one lived online and the other deep in the criminal underworld.” With its mix of crime, suspense, and social media intrigue, Bad Influencer is shaping up to be a must-watch series for 2025.

The launch was hosted by rapper and presenter Anele Zondo, who engaged the actors with fun questions about the series while keeping the guests thoroughly entertained.

Joining Jo-Anne and Cindy on screen are a host of talented actors, including Thapelo Mokoena, Hamilton Dlamini, Aubrey Poo, Julia Anastasopoulos, Emmanuel Castis, and newlywed Lerato Nxumalo, ensuring a dynamic mix of performances that are sure to captivate viewers.

Bad Influencer will be available on Netflix starting 31 October, offering a thrilling journey through a glamorous yet dangerous world.
