South African football legend Siphiwe Tshabalala is still smiling after meeting Brazilian football great Ronaldo Luís Nazário during the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking about the encounter, Tshabalala could not hide his excitement as he explained just how much the meeting meant to him.
“There was no way I was going to Miss this moment and when it happened I was doing an interview with Brazilian TV. It was a live interview and then he just came. When he came in the video you can see the smile on his face, he was so happy to see me, I mean of course, he’s the GOAT. I’m saying this with great humility. I’m at my happiest. I really love that guy.”
The former Bafana Bafana star’s joy was clear as he reflected on the special interaction with one of football’s most celebrated players. The moment quickly caught the attention of fans, many of whom were delighted to see two football icons sharing the spotlight at the World Cup.
Adding to his excitement, Tshabalala also proudly revealed that Ronaldo follows him on Instagram, making the encounter even more memorable.
The football star later shared photos from the meeting on Instagram and expressed his admiration for the Brazilian legend.
“I met met the GOAT, I shared a moment with the GOAT GOAT and I danced with the GOAT,” he wrote.
He then added simply: “Ronaldo, R9 The Phenomenon.”
