Simphiwe Ngema On Why She’s Not Following Ongoing Late Husband Dumi Masilela’s Court Case. Late Rhythm City actor Dumi Masilea passed away early August in 2017 and a few months after the incident, the trial of four suspects accused of murdering actor the actor took place in the North Gauteng High Court.
Mashudu Malema, Mfundo Nkosi, Bongani Masumbuka and Solly Mukhuba have been accused of shooting the actor in a hijacking gone wrong in Tembisa which saw the actor fatally shot twice. Simphiwe Ngema was left to pick up the pieces after her husband of two months was brutally killed. In the actress latest interview with MacG, Ngema revealed that the trial resumed on his birthday May 31st.
Simphiwe revealed that she made a conscious decision to not follow the trial because dealing with Dumi’s loss is a big enough burden to carry. Ngema shared that even at the moment of Dumi’s death she didn’t think about the people who committed the crime because that would mean having to carry the burden of forgiving them in order to move on.
“The trial actually started on Monday when it was his birthday and I made a conscious decision not to follow the trial, because losing Dumi is a big enough burden to carry and I’m not gonna carry the burden of not forgiving. It’ll be too much for me” she said.
The Slay actress continued to share that is the justice system fails her and the men walk free after what they did, she would have to somehow have to find it in her to gather the strength to pick up the pieces that she has worked hard to pick up after the tragic passing.
Simphiwe revealed that for three months she was in a bad state emotionally and had a hard time accepting the reality of Dumi’s death. Simphiwe had gotten used to Dumi’s schedule and always having him around, sharing that she would expect to see him walk through the door at a certain time and instantly remember that she would never see him again.
The trial against the men accused of murdering actor, Dumi Masilela, hit another snag on Monday after the prosecutor called in sick and have rolled the case over to Tuesday.
