South African actress, producer, and television personality Salamina Mosese has revealed exciting news for young readers and parents alike. She is set to release her brand-new children’s picture book, Neo’s Invisible Blanket, which will be available in bookstores across the country and online retailers from 1 October 2025.

The book tells the story of a young boy named Neo who battles fear and self-doubt. With the help of his big sister Thandi, who gifts him a magical invisible blanket, Neo learns that courage is not about being fearless but about moving forward even when you are scared. The blanket becomes a symbol of bravery, love, and imagination—qualities that are often unseen but deeply felt.

Speaking about her inspiration, Salamina shared that the book was inspired by her own experiences as both a mother and an aunt. She explained, “As a mom and an aunt, I’ve seen how our children carry both big dreams and quiet fears. I wanted to write a story that shows them that courage doesn’t mean not being afraid—it means finding a way to move forward anyway. Neo’s journey reminds us all that sometimes the most powerful tools we carry are the ones we cannot see, but can always feel—like courage, love, belief, and imagination.”

This isn’t Mosese’s first venture into children’s literature. She is also the author of the popular Gogo’s Spaza series, which includes Disaster at Gogo’s Spaza and Cook-off at Gogo’s Spaza. Both titles have been praised for their fun storytelling and rich cultural themes that resonate with South African families.

Her publishing partner, Pan Macmillan South Africa, officially announced the upcoming release of the book, highlighting it as a meaningful addition to Mosese’s growing portfolio of work for children.

On Instagram, Salamina also expressed her gratitude to her supporters and collaborators, saying, “I hope this book will find its way into your hearts. Thank you @panmacmillansakids @panmacmillansa for believing in my vision. And @subi_bosa your work is magic.”

With Neo’s Invisible Blanket, Salamina continues to cement her place as not only a beloved entertainer but also a storyteller who nurtures children’s confidence, imagination, and courage through her writing.
