SA Celebs Who Found Fame from Big Brother Reality Show. As the saying goes, success is where preparation and opportunity meet. The following celebrities made an impression the minute we saw them on Big Brother, and now some are big stars.

Blue Mbombo

Blue needs no introduction. From the Big Bother House, she went on to be a cast member of popular Mzansi Magic reality television show Diski Divas. Blue also grew her portfolio as a model, and she was voted the Sexiest Women in South Africa in 2016 by Sowetan readers. She has been the face of major brands like Reviv as well as Dark ‘n Lovely. Blue has also spread her wings to be a sought after businesswoman who together with her twin sister, Brown own a construction company.

Mbali Nkosi

Mbali Nkosi has become a household name since being evicted from the house. She is among the most recognized media personalities in the country. The 31 year old has gone to present the All Access TV show on Mzansi Magic alongside Nomzamo Mbatha and Anga Makubalo. All of that came after she frequented the news anchor desk at ANN7. Elsewhere, she gave music the essential try with a single called ‘S.M.A.T. Rain’. Mbali also acted as a dancer in the musical drama series Angel’s Song that aired on M-NET in 2006. She has also acted on MTV Shuga, Rockville, Zabalaza, Generations, A date with Arthur as well as The Queen.

Lerato Sengadi

Lerato was a contestant on Season two of Big Brother Africa. She represented South Africa and was sent home on the 56th day in the house. She later returned to the show in Season 5 and eventually came out third. Beyond the show, Lerato, who is rapper HHP’s widow is well known in South Africa’s advertising industry. She is also known in the entertainment circles.


Lexi has been a constant fixture in the press, in part due to her larger than life character and her trendy clap backs on Twitter. But that is not the only thing she has been up to. Lexi stars on her reality show alongside her boyfriend, Big Brother season 2 winner Mandla Hlatshwayo.


Mandla won himself a nifty R1 million from the show’s second season, after leading the most controversial season yet. But he wasn’t about to let that dry up. The reality show star then ventured into other things, like being a host on the Pls Call Me programme, as well as star in his own reality show Mandla & Lexi.
