SA Celebs Nominated At The E People’s Choice Awards. The Nominees for the 2021 E People’s Choice Awards were recently revealed, and a few local faces have also bagged nominations. Congratulations are in order for rapper and businesswoman Boity Thulo, YouTube sensations Lasizwe Dambuza and Mihlali Ndamase and TikTok star Witney Ramabulana.
The gang has been nominated for the African Social Star Award and we can all agree that all nominee’s are definitely deserving of the nod. Taking to Instagram, award winning beauty content creator and YouTuber Mihlali celebrated the nomination and asked her followers to help her bring this one home.
“Hopefully we’ll take this one home. It isn’t for me alone but for other creatives that need to fight for recognition and respect in the entertainment space” Ndamase wrote.
Lasizwe also celebrated the nod by dedicating the milestone to all his supporters who have elevated his career to unbelievable heights.
“This nomination is not for me, it’s for the fans — it’s for my fans. Finally my fans can come together and do what they do best, they can do the most. This nomination is for my fans and only my fans.” Dambuza said.
The awards celebrate all forms of entertainment and are hosted by E! channel on DStv and are voted for by the public. Fans worldwide have a chance to vote in 40 categories across TV, music, movies and pop culture. This is the third year that the platform has opened the nominations up to African stars as well.
It seems like all the nominee’s are rallying their troops together to bring the victory home and it’s going to be an interesting one. Other stars who have also been nominated within the category include Nigerian superstar Falz, Zimbabwean comedian Madam Boss and more.
Last year major local celebs that were nominated for the category included Miss South Africa and Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi, Karl Kugelmann, Sho Madjozi, Thuso Mbedu, Wian van den Berg and Lydia Forson however, Kenya’s Elsa Majimbo walked away with the win.
The voting lines opened on October 27th and will remain open up until November 17.
