Author and speaker Rachel Kolisi has officially introduced her new foundation, the Falling Forward Foundation, a project that reflects her passion for serving others and supporting organisations already making a difference in communities across South Africa.

In a video shared on Instagram, Rachel opened up about the personal journey that led her to create the foundation. Reflecting on the changes she has experienced over the past two years, she explained how difficult moments can sometimes create opportunities for growth and new beginnings.

“It has been an interesting 24 months in my life and so much has changed. What’s been beautiful is sometimes I think that things that fall apart, things that break there’s an opportunity that comes with that for something new,” she said.

Rachel explained that helping others has always been an important part of her life, and that the foundation represents a new chapter for her.

“I think as kind of the next step into this new season a huge part of who I am and what I do is serving others and so this is the start of the Falling Forward Foundation. The focus of the Falling Forward Foundation is going to be amplify existing organisations that are already doing phenomenal work in South Africa.”

Rather than creating entirely new programmes, the foundation aims to support and strengthen organisations that are already making a positive impact in communities. Through this approach, Rachel hopes to help existing initiatives reach more people and continue their important work.

One of the organisations closest to her heart is the Impilo Project, which she has been involved with for the past 18 months. Rachel spoke proudly about her role in helping to shape the initiative from its early stages.

“One of the amazing organisations that I’ve been serving and working with in the last 18 months is the Impilo project. I was was incredibly honoured and grateful to be brought on board in the early days and really be apart of co-creating the program and be a part of the work that they are doing today which is really about bring world-class health care to underserved communities both in South Africa and Africa.”

The Impilo Project focuses on improving access to quality healthcare for underserved communities, a mission that aligns closely with Rachel’s vision for the Falling Forward Foundation.

The organisation has already made a meaningful impact, serving and helping hundreds of people. Rachel said this is something she is incredibly proud to be associated with as she continues her work in the community sector.
