Being a mother comes with a lot of emotional baggage such as welcoming the drastic changes that your body has gone through. A number of celeb mother have opened up about the struggles and challenges that come with pregnancy and the post pregnancy changes that one has to embrace.

Taking to Instagram, mother of one Linda Mtoba shared a photo of herself wearing a revealing bikini at the beach and wrote a lengthy note about the emotional journey that she went through to get to the place she is in. The River actress shared that she took some time to reflect on the eye opening journey of body positivity sharing that she remembers a time where she didn’t recognize her own body.

Mtoba shared how her new body was very unfamiliar to her and she had to go through the emotions of learning to love her new self.

“Took some time to get to this point in my postpartum journey…I remember touching you and feeling a stranger, In the darkness I’d hold you hoping you’d feel familiar. Id run my fingers down you and try to find traces of you, the old you but this was new. You weren’t there, I wasn’t there. So I took the time and reintroduced myself tried to get reacquainted with this stranger my soul inhabits” she wrote.

Linda revealed how her bruises and stretch marks had become part of the new her and that also took some time to get familiar with. Now that she has allowed herself to experience the journey to self love, she is at a better place and has become confident and also learned to love herself again.

“So bruised, so stretched. So not me. It took a while but soon I could bare looking at her with the lights on. The grooves of her body started to feel familiar. My touch to her skin didn’t feel like strangers meeting. My reflection in the mirror became a familiar greeting. Where she smiled at me and I saw me. This body, my body, was a stranger. We worked hard to get to know each other again. We worked even harder to love me again” she wrote.

Celebrity mom’s and followers flooded the post with heart emoji’s, as they all resonate with the journey that she has travelled. They also sent the actress comforting messages, ensuring her that she looks amazing and is doing an amazing job at raising her daughter.
