Actress Gail Mabalane has always been a head-turner and our own version of Nia Long or Halle Berry. Short hair was not always Gail’s thing and now she is spilling on where it all started from.
Taking to Instagram the Blood And Water actress opened up about her hair journey and what inspired her go-to look. Gail revealed that after her brother’s passing in 2006, she wanted a new beginning and wanted to start with her hair. She remembers when she first saw the look on award-winning actress Halle Berry and she knew that was the look she wanted.
From that day on, she has never looked back and we don’t blame her. She also shared a photo from a decade ago when she did a pixie and we must say not only has she not aged one bit but that pixie cut in the photos is totally giving us life.
“When my brother passed in 2006, I felt the urge to cut my hair…new beginnings I guess. ??♀️ I remember seeing @halleberry rocking THAT pixie and going “THAT’S IT!”. ? I’ve never looked back. I can’t believe this image is 10yrs old @kevinmarkpass ?. Also … @geeow77 is the best to ever do it!” she wrote.
Gail regularly remembers her late mother and brother on social media with throwback photos together. The actress is the middle child out of three children and her brother Craig Nkoane passed on in an electrical accident in 2006. Very recently, the Blood And Water actress shared how the month of November is strange for her because her late father, brother, and mother all celebrate their birthdays on this month.
In a previous interview, Gail revealed that her mother passed when she was 21 years old and her brother passed six months after. Mabalane remembers how her mother taught her valuable life lessons that have seen her through life since her passing.
