Penny Lebyane Livid Following Courts Order To Pay DJ Fresh Legal Fees. GBV activist and radio host Penny Lebyane is standing up and fighting back following the courts ruling of her having to pay for DJ Fresh’s legal fee. A few months ago, the Massive Metro host applied to face DJ Fresh real name Thato Sikwane in court following a rape allegation case that was made against the DJ by Ntsiki Mazwai.
Although her application was dismissed Lebyane recently applied at the Johannesburg Court to challenge the order and seek clarity as to why her name was implicated into the court case. She also seeks to challenge the court ordering her to pay R79 000 in legal cost to her ex boyfriend Sikwane after her joint application was thrown out.
Penny’s case was thrown out in February with added costs and the judge ruled that her name was mentioned “erroneously” and that a separate application should be submitted.
Lebyane has refused to pay the amount and is determined to get answers on why her name was mentioned in the court documents. This after DJ Fresh took legal action against Mazwai following a reposted tweet accusing him of committing a sexual offence. The tweet Ntsiki reposted was from one of the DJ’s many accusers who claims that the 947 DJ forced himself on her 17 years ago while they were at at a hotel.
DJ fresh alleges that the original author of the damning post that was retweeted by Ntsiki is Penny. Lebyane has since been fighting the justice system and challenging its alleged bias ruling against women. Penny is committed to fighting for justice not only for herself, but for the women who have also been silenced by the unfair justice system even though they have been wronged.
Taking to social media, Penny shared the newspaper article about the legal fees that she has been ordered to pay claiming that she refuses to be bullied and victimized out of fear. Even though she is aware that the fight is much bigger than she is, however she refuses to stand by and watch the men abuse their power. The TV personality also alleges that her lawyer was bullied by the courts and psychologically abused which has made her more determined to stand up for what is right.
“I will not be victimized. I will never live in fear again. I was a child now l am grown. I know it’s bigger than me and l will stand cause l understand abuse of power has to be stopped period. The courts of this country can not be used to silence us. My lawyer was bullied and psychologically abused so it’s not about me cause it was never about in the 1st place. I am not tired, l just begun cause our children deserve better. ? l am my sister’s keeper, l am determined to stand in the gap and face it” she wrote.
