Pearl Thusi Shares How Terry Pheto Helped Her With Designer Clothes Early In Her Career! Everyone is singing Pearl’s praises following the successful launch of her Netflix show Queen Sono amongst other achievements. But Pearl is putting the spotlight on the women who contributed to her success.
In a recent interview on The Expresso Show, Pearl ended it off acknowledging the women who came before her and paved the way. Not only that but those who also helped her when she was starting out. Pearl shared how when she started her career before she could afford wardrobe for events, Terry Pheto gave came through for her.
“I want to give a big big shout out to someone who was a big inspiration and a big sister and mentor to me…. Terry. When I started doing RGB, I didn’t have money but had all these events to go to. So I didn’t have clothes and my stylist didn’t have clothes for me…she (Terry) was cleaning out her staff she gave me two big bags of designer clothes that I could wear for events,” Pearl shared.
“I think it is important to share these type of stories about the women who supported us. I think we don’t talk about it enough, so shoutout to Terry, shoutout to Bassie. Shout out to all those women,” she added.
Nomzamo Mbatha concurred with Pearl that Terry Pheto was an inspiration and would go out of her way for other women. Pearl has shared before how Basetsana Khumalo gave her her first laptop.
