Award-winning multimedia entrepreneur and television presenter Pamela Mtanga recently shared a heartfelt reflection on her journey from hosting university pageants to co-hosting one of South Africa’s biggest stages — Miss South Africa 2025.
Taking to Instagram, Pamela opened up about how her hosting career began during her time at Nelson Mandela University. “Throughout my university career I hosted at least 80% of the pageants because Nelson Mandela University had a really vibrant pageant culture,” she wrote. “(Check 21-year-old Pam the MC in the last slide 5). This moment reminds me of exactly that, but now with the whole country watching!”
Pamela expressed deep gratitude to the Miss South Africa organization for trusting her with such an incredible opportunity. “Thank you to the @official_misssa organization for backing me and placing me on such a platform to help you introduce the new era. Impact and empowerment are mandates I can get behind,” she shared.
She also gave a special shout-out to her designer for creating her breathtaking look. “@afi_sa made my stunning champagne dress, thank you for your commitment and pulling it together in such a short space of time. We are locked in now, and I cannot wait to work on more beautiful gowns.”
The television star posted a series of photos showing her journey — from hosting a PSA event in 2017 to standing on the Miss South Africa 2025 grand finale stage as co-host. The “how it started vs how it’s going” moment left fans inspired by her growth and determination.
Pamela described the experience as a dream come true. “The 67th Miss South Africa led by Nomalanga the Flame with myself as the co-host was a dream come true,” she said. “I barely manifest stages; I just let the work speak and what’s mine will find me. But when it comes to Miss SA, it’s a stage I manifested, and I am so happy to have been a part of the beginning of this new era.”
From university auditoriums to national television, Pamela Mtanga’s story is a beautiful reminder that hard work, consistency, and purpose can take you from humble beginnings to the biggest stages in the country.
