Oh No! King Thandiswa Allegedly Owes R500k In Unpaid Taxes! Say it ain’t so, Thandiswa Mazwai is the latest celeb to be hit by unpaid tax allegations.
According to Sunday Sun, Thandiswa owes the tax man a whopping R575 779. The singer is reportedly being investigated by SARS for alleged tax evasion and that she is at the risk of legal action.
The publication claims that SARS sent Mazwai a letter last year, ordering her to settle the debt or face legal action to have her assets repossessed to settle the amount.
Thandiswa’s manager has labelled the information leaked to the tabloid “erroneous,” adding that it was disappointing that a SARS employer would let news to the tabloid.
“We are engaging with SARS on some tax issues raised due to misfiling by a previous accountant,” Mazwai’s manager said.
