The Real Housewives of Durban star Nonku Williams is entering her glow-up era — and she’s doing it with grace, strength, and an unwavering faith. The 45-year-old businesswoman and mom of three recently opened up in an interview with TRUELOVE magazine about her growth since joining the hit reality show, the challenges of single motherhood, and how her faith continues to guide her.
When viewers first met Nonku in Season 1 of RHOD, she was outspoken and sometimes quick to react. But she says the woman we see now has matured in many ways.
“I’ve grown a lot; I don’t want to react to situations like I used to,” she explained. “I try to think before I speak, be more mindful, and more than anything, I want to follow God’s will for my life. This platform is bigger than me. It’s about learning, making mistakes, and being impactful. I’m slowly getting there — I’m in my glow-up era.”
Nonku’s time on RHOD has opened many doors. She now works with big brands like Samsung and is an ambassador for her plastic surgeon, Dr. Kajal Lutchminarian, who helps her with her glow-up specials — a project focused on empowering women to feel good about themselves.
“Then there’s my Ashes to Beauty wine, which is flying off the shelves, and more is coming,” she added. “This is my year of opportunities and blessings.”
Despite the drama each season brings, Nonku continues to return to RHOD, though she admits it’s never an easy decision. “At the end of each season, I tell myself I’m not coming back — it’s emotionally taxing. But then God reminds me it’s bigger than me. I go through these things for a reason, to glorify His name. I want to inspire women by being authentic and telling my story.”
Being a single mom comes with its own challenges, especially with three kids, including her teenage daughter Nothile, who is now pursuing music like her father. “Raising boys is tough — I’m a woman, I don’t know how to raise a man,” she said. “My middle child is in that tough transition into teenagerhood, and we clash a lot. But Nothile is the calm opposite of me, and I love how she’s embracing who she is.”
On the friendship front, Nonku praises fellow cast member Jojo Robinson for her loyalty. “We’ve had our ups and downs, but I’m glad. We now truly understand each other. We’ve earned each other’s trust, and I’m loyal to her no matter what.”
As for love, Nonku hasn’t given up. While she won’t publicly showcase another relationship on the show, she remains open to finding the right man.
“Love is beautiful. God is love. I wear my heart on my sleeve, but the man meant for me — a God-fearing man — won’t be for the public. Still, I’ll never shy away from sharing a God-given gift.”
