Nomzamo Mbatha, South African-born actress and philanthropist, is once again leading the charge for women’s empowerment through her Nomzamo Lighthouse Foundation. In a powerful kickoff to Women’s Month, Mbatha will be hosting the EmpoweringHer Summit 2024, an event aimed at celebrating, educating, and empowering women across South Africa.
The summit, powered by African Bank and Hollywood Foundation, is set to take place on September 14, 2024, at the Inanda Club in Sandton. It will feature a dynamic seminar and a prestigious business awards ceremony, recognising exceptional female entrepreneurs and leaders. The day promises to be filled with transformative discussions, networking opportunities, and moments of inspiration.
The Nomzamo Lighthouse Foundation has a long-standing commitment to supporting youth and women through initiatives like fundraising and partnerships with major brands. This year’s summit continues that legacy, with esteemed industry experts scheduled to share valuable insights, guiding the younger generation toward success.
Entertainment will be provided by acclaimed performers Zoe Modiga, Lerato Kganyago, and Black Motion, while the event’s Master of Ceremonies, Ayanda Mangubane Borotho, will guide guests through the day of celebration and empowerment.
In a recent interview, Mbatha highlighted the importance of the summit and awards: “I believe that the awards will provide the opportunity for women who cannot access certain spaces. We also decided to expand it into a summit because we are constantly searching for knowledge, skill sets, and ways to improve and create scalable solutions and businesses. Hosting an event like this is important to celebrate, encourage, and highlight the incredible women founders from all corners of South Africa.”
With its mission to inspire and educate, the EmpoweringHer Summit 2024 is shaping up to be a landmark event for women’s empowerment.
