Shaka iLembe actress Nomzamo Mbatha found herself in the middle of unexpected drama this week after a photo of her in Constantia, Western Cape, resurfaced online — leading some people on social media to make bold and unfounded claims.

The drama started when social media user @sanelenkosiii posted pictures of Deputy President Paul Mashatile’s luxurious R28.9 million mansion in Constantia. In the same post, she also included an old Instagram photo of Nomzamo Mbatha in the same area and captioned it:
“Deputy President Paul Mashatile has officially declared ownership of a R28.9 million mansion in the exclusive Constantia suburb of Cape Town, which he used to give access to his side girlfriends for vacations.”
This post caused a stir, with some users wondering if Nomzamo was one of Mashatile’s alleged “girlfriends” and if the photo was taken at his mansion.
But Nomzamo quickly shut down the rumours. She commented under the post: “Ok, I would like to credit and acknowledge @Airbnb.
Shuthi, sorry.”
She even shared her booking receipts from December 2020 to January 2021, showing that she had stayed at the Constantia Lodge, which she booked through Airbnb.
Her quick and calm response helped clear the confusion and prove that she had no connection to Mashatile or the mansion.
Many people on social media came to her defense, with one person posting: “Sana poor Nomzamo Mbatha had to scroll down and search for receipts from 2020. Imagine if ebengenazo umntanabantu.”
Another user, @Buhlebendalo__M, said: “Smart girl. In life, one must always keep a receipt.”
Nomzamo also made headlines earlier in the week when singer Simphiwe Dana accused her of copying her unique hairstyle, adding more fuel to an already eventful week for the star.
Despite the noise, Nomzamo handled the situation with grace, and many praised her for staying calm and professional under pressure.
