Media personality, singer and The Motherhood Network host Nandi Madida is encouraging people to stop worrying about what others think and start living life on their own terms.
Nandi shared why she believes people should stop chasing everyone’s approval and instead focus on living the life they truly want. She explained that this message is something everyone can relate to because no one is loved by every single person.
On 12 July, Nandi shared a message on X that quickly caught people’s attention. The post has received more than 100,000 views. She wrote, “There isn’t a single person who’s ever lived without being disliked by someone. So stop waiting for everyone’s approval. Go live your life.”
Many people agreed with her message, and Nandi later explained why she believes it connected with so many people.
She said, “I think the reason why the tweet resonated with so many people is because it is simply a universal truth. No one is like by everyone. Every person in history, whether they were the kindest people, the most successful, most influential and talented has faces criticism and rejection from someone and it’s normal. We need to normalise that because we have to live. The point that I’m trying to make is that you cannot live for everyone’s approval.”
According to Nandi, people often hold themselves back because they are afraid of what others might say or think. She believes this fear can stop people from making important decisions and following the life they truly want.
She added, “Fear of judgment can make people stop pursuing their dreams and changing themselves.”
To show that everyone faces personal decisions, including herself, Nandi shared an example from her own life.
She said, “For example, I’m 38 years old and I’m currently faced with a dilemma where I’m like, do I get a summer body or do I build another body? But it’s my life.”
By “build another body,” Nandi was referring to the possibility of having another child. She explained that it is a personal decision that only she can make, regardless of what others may think.
Her message is a reminder that criticism and rejection are a normal part of life. No matter how kind, successful or talented someone is, there will always be people who disagree with them. Instead of letting fear of judgment control their choices, Nandi believes people should live their lives with confidence and make decisions that bring them happiness.
Through her message, Nandi is encouraging everyone to stop seeking approval from others, trust themselves and remember that their life belongs to them, not to public opinion.
