Mother’s Day was filled with love, appreciation and touching messages as several South African celebrities took to social media to celebrate the special women in their lives. From childhood memories to emotional reflections on motherhood, stars shared heartfelt tributes and beautiful family moments with their followers.
Actress Dineo Langa celebrated her mother, radio personality Kgomotso Moeketsi, by posting a throwback picture of the two of them when Dineo was younger. Alongside the picture, she wrote an emotional message praising her mother for her strength and sacrifices.
“Dear Mommy @kgomotso.moeketsi. I wanted to stop and tell this young lady here that she did it! She did it scared. She did it not knowing how. She did it without abandoning her dreams.
Tell her that I got every bit of my strength, tenacity, will, self-belief, determination, beauty, intelligence, cool, brilliance and absolute zest for life from her!
Tell her she made it happen for herself and still did an amazing job raising me. Tell her she embedded ambition in me like no one ever could. Tell her she expanded my world and built a 1 of 1 in me.
Today, I honour the choice you made to take on one of the most daunting but incredulous journies with my little self and said “we’ll do it together kid”. What a phenomenal Mother you are my Mommy!
Happy Mother’s Day Mom eternity! I love you for Also, how dope is your fit in this?! You’ve always been dope my girl!”
Natasha Joubert also marked her very first Mother’s Day as a new mom. The beauty queen and media personality shared sweet pictures with her baby girl while opening up about her journey into motherhood.
“Motherhood has been softer, harder, deeper, and more beautiful than I ever expected.

“To my two beautiful girls, you are my strength, my purpose, my greatest teachers. So many years into this motherhood journey, and it is still the hat I wear with the most pride. Motherhood gave me my purpose. My daughters gave me my strength.
It challenges me daily. It is not easy. But I love hard, and I would not trade it for anything.
So many of you ask “how do you make it look so easy?” The truth is, I do not. I am still learning every day, with the softest heart for the hardest job.
I am putting it all, the beautiful, messy, real parts, into a book, dropping this August. Happy Mother’s Day to all the women doing the impossible with love.”
