Mvelo Makhanya Reveals The Real Reason Behind Her Scandal! Exit. SAFTA winning actress Mvelo Makhanya grew up on our screens. We watched her go from a student to fully grown married woman navigating life as Lindiwe Ngema on e.TV’s Scandal!

Back in November, Mvelo revealed she was taking a bow and leaving the Soapie that made her a household name. Her character, Lindiwe was killed off the show as she made her last appearance on the 10th of November 2022 which guarantees no return in the future, so much to her stans’ disappointment. At the time, there was no clear explanation given by both parties, Mvelo and Scandal! on why she was permanently leaving as one the longest serving main cast members of the Award winning soapie.

Fast forward to early December, Mvelo took to Instagram sharing in a Live video the real reason that led to her exit after almost a decade on Scandal! The actress labeled the working environment at Scandal! as toxic and shockingly revealed it wasn’t her decision to leave although it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

“I’ve been the one that’s been catching all the f*cken smoke. It wasn’t me guys, it wasn’t my choice. They wrote me off, that’s the truth. It was God’s plan though, I’m going to tell you that for real. I’ve been praying … I’ve been wanting to leave that place. For me it was something I had really been praying about so when it finally happened it really felt like God was removing me from the toxic environment. I probably would have killed myself. There was a 90% chance. That’s how toxic that place was,” Mvelo said in the video.
