Miss World Organization Reveals Why The Pageant Is Postponed. COVID -19 has made life a total nightmare to live since its first outbreak, and it is still on a roll. Mzansi was looking forward to watching our girl Shudufhadzo Musida strut her stuff at the Miss World finale which was scheduled to take place in Puerto Rico on Thursday. The pageant has now released a public statement announcing the pageant has been temporarily cancelled.
The Miss World organization confirmed that Miss World 2021 has been temporarily postponed “due to health and safety interests of contestants, staff, crew and general public” after participants, including Miss India Manasa Varanasi, tested positive for Covid-19. The contestants are now currently in isolation and the finale will be rescheduled at Puerto Rico Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot within the next 90 days.
The organization is taking additional safety measures with understanding that those on the stage and dressing rooms were at higher risk after more positives were confirmed. COVID-19 protocols will be carefully implemented within the next three months and contestants will be carefully monitored. Permission to go home to their native countries will be allowed only once all have been cleared.
Miss World CEO Julia Morley added they are looking forward to welcoming back the contestants upon their return as they have all grown closer to the ladies during their time preparing for the pageant.
