Miss South Africa CEO Stephanie Weil Steps Down After Five Years

The Miss South Africa Organisation has announced that its CEO, Stephanie Weil, is stepping down. The news was shared in an official statement released on Wednesday, 9 July. Weil took over leadership of the organisation in 2019 and has led the team for the past five years.

In the statement, the organisers said: “The organisers of Miss South Africa wish @stephweil everything of the best with her new endeavours as an agreement has been reached that Ms Weil will be leaving the organisation after many years as CEO of Miss South Africa.”

They also added that Stephanie will still be around to help with the handover and make sure that the new leadership is smoothly brought in.

“Ms Weil will be staying on for as long as is required to ensure a smooth transition to new leadership and to ensure that the best interests of the Miss South Africa organisation are served,” they explained.

The organisation also thanked her for the work she’s done during her time as CEO, saying: “Miss SA is grateful to Stephanie for the work she did whilst she was CEO of the organisation.”

While this news was announced, many fans and pageant hopefuls are still waiting for updates on this year’s Miss SA competition. It’s been over two months since entries closed, but the Top 30 contestants have still not been revealed.

Entries opened on 2 April and closed on 11 April. Since then, there’s been growing concern about the delay in updates.

However, the Miss SA team has reassured fans that things are moving forward. In the same statement, they said: “The organisers of the Miss SA contest are making good progress with the preparations for the Miss SA contest, which will be a huge success.”

Now, with new leadership coming in and the pageant preparations underway, fans are hoping for more updates soon. For now, all eyes are on the next steps as the Miss South Africa Organisation begins a new chapter.
